Report: Turkey works on gas hub establishment fast

ANKARA, Jan 18 (PRIME) -- Turkey is working on establishment of a gas hub at an accelerated rate, newswire Anadolu reported on Wednesday.

"Turkey carries out infrastructure works necessary to turn the country into an international gas hub at an accelerated pace,” the report read.

“A third floating regasifying unit has entered the Mediterranean Sea. The floating unit will be used on company BOTAS’ liquefied natural gas terminal in the Gulf of Saros in the Aegean Sea near Turkey’s European shore."

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ordered the governments of both countries in 2022 to work on creation of a gas hub in Turkey swiftly and in detail. The hub could be used to transfer transit of gas from Russia's Nord Stream pipelines to the Black Sea region, and Erdogan thinks that Europe could receive Russian gas through Turkey.
